When is AFCAT conducted?

• AFCAT is conducted two times a year, once February and the next in September.
•  It is a common entrance test which is conducted for recruiting candidates into Flying, Ground duty and technical branch of the Indian Air Force.
• The examination is held in almost all the major cities of the country.
•  AFCAT is conducted for a time duration of 2 hours and consists of a total of 100 marks. 3 marks are awarded for every right answer whereas 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
• To be eligible for this examination, one should have a graduation degree with a minimum of 60% marks from any recognised university. Final year students can also apply for the examination.
• There are certain specific eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled; they are as follows:

1.       It is mandatory to have PCM as your subjects in class 12^th if you want to apply for the flying branch; BE is a necessity for technical branch whereas there is no as such specification for ground duty.

2.       Aspirants who want to get into the technical branch have to pass the EKT.
